East Baking started as a free standing 900 sq ft deli/bakery in Ludlow, MA “East Street Bagel Cafe” on November 14, 2004. This retail location was the foundation for our wholesale business. Operating a Quick Service Restaurant enabled us to see the critical areas where East Baking could make a significant impact not only on the sector, but also on food service in general. With only a couple wholesale accounts to start, we began to make our own muffins, pastries, sweet goods, danish, bagels, rolls, and specialty breads. Our wholesale accounts became the focus of what we did day in and day out, and “East Street Bagel & Café” became “East Baking Company Inc.”
Today, East Baking Company operates 9 plants throughout the United States. We have distribution warehouses throughout the country. Through this vast network, we are able to bake, warehouse, and distribute both fresh and frozen bakery products to the 50 states.
Our short lead times and small runs enable us to respond faster to an ever changing food service market place.
